Comments(0) I’ve been playing way too much Team Fortress 2 recently and now I’ve run across this eBay auction that seems like it was just made to be turned into a fortress where the honorable blue forces could hold off the malicious red guys.
So if you have a spare 1.5 million bucks sitting around I’d say you should seriously consider this. It sounds like something Richard Garriott may be interested in 
Comments(1) I’ve been trying to figure out what to do for Halloween this year so I was looking around on eBay (you all know how much I love the eBay) for cool costumes. Of course I’m looking for geek costumes, like game or Star Wars related or some such. Anyway I started seeing tons of really cool costumes and a bunch are even custom made and super nice so I thought I’d share it. Anyone who wears these costumes gets props from me and tons of geek cred!
Game Costumes
These costumes are pretty sweet and make for good Mario brothers costumes. The kid throws me off a bit though.
Well whats Mario without Wario? Lots happier I suppose heh. Anyway this isn’t a whole costume but its sweet and I want one. Also there are Mario Bros ones.
I’m not the biggest Cloud fan myself. He was cool enough I suppose but there are some who go crazy for him, like how everytime I play a game online I run into about 8 Clouds, Cloudz, Cluds and others. Either way this costume is top notch.
OMG Link. Heh this costumes pretty sweet. Certainly won’t fit me though, maybe for your kids.
Star Wars Costumes
Now these Star Wars costumes are truly incredible. There are some fantastically put together ones. Basically costume masterpieces, may be a bit pricey though
This is the cream of the crop. They call this the supreme edition and it is easy to see why. It is fully molded and looks like it just walked off the movie set.
Yoda is my favorite Star Wars character and there’s several versions of him available. This children’s one is pretty cute and the dog one is just sweet.
This Chewbacca is another supreme edition and it is equally incredible. I’d love to have this costume. But I feel sorry for anyone in a hot climate who wants to wear this for halloween Probably the perfect costume if you live in in Alaska though.
This is a very well done custom made tie fighter pilot uniform costume. It looks very authentic and you can tell they really put some effort in the details.
I could go on listing Star Wars costumes forever because there are so many nicely done ones but I’ll stop now and move on you can thank me however you wish.
Comic Book Characters Costumes
There are some very nicely done comic costumes right now that look to be custom made. Every geeks dream though most of us probably don’t fill out the tights like the real superheros.
You gotta love the Green Lantern he makes stuff materialize out of nowhere and basically makes no sense. Still cool though. This costume looks custom made and is very cool.
More fantastic costume work done by the same person here on the flash. Very well done and with removable hood as well so you can reveal your secret identity if you desire.
Wow this is even better. Spiderman is one of my favorite heroes and these costumes are spectacular. (In this issue of Spectacular Spiderman Peter goes trick or treating) [sorry…]
There are lots more comic costumes as well. This same seller apparently makes these sweet custom costumes and has a ton of them up. Also available is Batman, Shazam, Aquaman and more.
Well that’s it for now. It’s just too bad we can only wear one costume for Halloween. Hmm maybe that’s not true!

Comments(0) The RIAA recently won the case against single mom Jammie Thomas. She has to pay $220,000 in damages to the RIAA but she only makes $36000 so obviously that isn’t really possible. She vows to continue to appael and fight the RIAA over this file sharing incident.

Comments(0) I’ve been reading StevePavilina.com recently and came across a post I had previously read about figuring out your purpose in life, but when I read it before I didn’t proceed to participate in the exercise.
Today when I ran across it again though I figured I’d go for it and this is what I came up with.
“To learn, love and live with a passion. To be free to pursue these passions wholeheartedly as they arise. To provide and care for for my friends and family and help them develop their potentials. To give back to the world through sharing what I’ve learned.”
That’s what I’ve found is my purpose in life and thus I’m trying to keep it in mind and pursue it, the main element is to first achieve the freedom needed to pursue my passions as I tend to become extremely obsessed with one topic for about 4-6 months at a time and during this time I voraciously consume information related to that topic. Previously I haven’t been able to focus completely on these things as work or school has gotten in the way, going forward I intend to develop that freedom.
Anyway I found it very interesting and helpful to me and I hope it can help others. If you do the exercise I’d love to see what others came up with in the comments. Every should and will have a different purpose in life that really means something to you.

Comments(0) I’ve been doing some affiliate marketing recently and was in need of a script that could hide my affiliate link and also give me a count of the times it was clicked so I could calculate stuff like conversion rates and such accurately. I looked around for one a lot but couldn’t find one so I went ahead and made one myself. As I’m currently rather new to PHP this is rather dirty but it works.
I thought I’d share it as well. Basically it makes a text file in the directory that you put it in that just has the number of clicks through this link, then it forwards the user on to the link. I recommend putting it in a directory like www.yourdomain.com/recommends/link.php and linking to that. I make a separate one for each link I want to track. In the future I plan to upgrade this to provide more tracking and such but it’s pretty useful now so hopefully someone can put it to use.
