I’ve got a virus and now you do too!
Blogrush Providing Free Blog Traffic
You may notice the new widget over on the right from BlogRush. It is providing cool new blog posts from other bloggers who talk about similar stuff to me. The best part though is that whenever I show this widget, posts from my blog will show up on other peoples widgets across the blogosphere (what a silly word.) Theres also credit for people you refer to them as well, BlogRush has a great video intro about the whole thing as well.
This is a great way for anyone who has a blog to get traffic so I thought I’d let everyone know about it. So check out Blogrush if you have a blog or probably any site with some sort of RSS feed.
Happy Blogging!
Etsy: The Place for Handmade Crap!
So I just recently ran across this sweet website where you can buy handmade crap that other people made. Crap is not really the right word though since lots of this stuff is freakin’ sweet!
The way I ran across it was through this sweet handmade hearthstone that is from World of Warcraft.
There’s also a keyring version and a glowing version and a cell phone charm thing.
The Place to Get Handmade Stuff
Here’s a few other cool things I found while looking around.
Meekrats Playing Poker
HTML Head Earrings
Pacman Bracelet
The prices on most stuff is pretty cheap and so is shipping because the people just want people who like their ideas
Etsy is a fun place to look around and find cool handmade stuff you’re friends will be jealous over for sure so check it out if you get a chance.
True Random Numbers without Extra Hardware

Generating true random numbers is a rather difficult problem and usually requires some extra hardware. Typical random numbers generated by computers are only psuedorandom and while this is typically good enough for most applications. They are obviously less than desirable for sensitive or important applications.
It turns out, however, that you can generate true random numbers with just the hardware available on nearly all computing devices! It involves profiling the bit states of memory after power cycles and figuring out things from this which also lets you fingerprint a system from this information. There’s more of a discussion here and the in depth paper is available here for those who want to read it.
100 Ways to Be Annoying
Here’s a classic article I found on 100 ways to be annoying. It’s even on a geocities site! OMG how annoying. Probably everyone’s seen this already but it’s the first time I rand across it so I thought I’d share.
Some of my favorites.
- Sew anti-theft detector strips into people’s backpacks.
- Staple papers in the middle of the page.
- Write the surprise ending to a novel on its first page.
- Specify that your drive-through order is “to go”.
- Change channels five minutes before the end of every show.
- Leave tips in Bolivian currency.
- Name your dog “Dog”.
- Deliberately hum songs that will remain lodged in co-workers’ brains.
Enjoy!
Welcome to Geekadin
Hey whats up!
So I decided I’d start a personal type blog to talk about random stuff I’m interested that doesn’t fit well on any other websites I may have. I’ll probably ramble about lots of stuff but hopefully I can share some cool ideas or things I find with you all. Eventually I may focus this site more on one thing if that turns out to be intersting to lots of readers but most likely it’ll just remain a brain dump for me. You are probably wondering about the name, well it’s meant to signify that I’m a geek and also it takes the suffix from the word paladin to signify I’m a geek with a holy mission to vanquish the world of darkness (ok not really I just think it’s kinda cool)
Here’s a list of things in no particular I like and/or am obsessed with and will probably end up here.
Poker
Video Games
Making Money Online
Collectible Card Games
Math
Computers
Gadgets
Books
Computer Science
Movies Especially Geeky Ones
Famous Geeks
Programming
Real Estate
Technology
Passive Income
Internet Crap
Music (Weezer, Paul Oakenfold, Blues Traveler, Enya) (ecclectic right?)
Anything I Want (Didn’t want any topics left out lol)
So there you have it, that’s what you can expect. Basically anything in the world mwahaha! Well until next time.
